20. Colonel William⁶ DENT (Judge Thomas⁵, Peter⁴, James³, William², Roger¹) was born in Hull's Neck, Westbury Manor, St. Mary's Co., MD 1660.⁽³⁸⁶⁾ William died 1704 in Charles Co., MD, at 44 years of age.⁽³⁸⁷⁾

He married twice. He married Elizabeth BROOKE. He married Elizabeth FOWKE in Charles Co., MD, 08 FEB 1684.⁽³⁸⁸⁾ Elizabeth was born in Charles Co., MD 1668.⁽³⁸⁹⁾ Elizabeth was the daughter of Colonel Gerard FOWKE and Ann THOROGOOD. Elizabeth died 1703 in Charles Co., MD, at 35 years of age.⁽³⁹⁰⁾ William became an attorney, and began a life of public service. He served in the early Indian Wars, and was known as Col. William Dent. He amassed much property, and his worth was considerable. His properties included a plantation on the Nanjemoy in Charles Co., a town house in Annapolis, well-stocked plantations on the Mattawoman in Prince George's Co., and another farm at Portobacco Clifts.

Colonel William DENT and Elizabeth FOWKE had the following children:

35 i. Thomas⁷ DENT was born in Portobacco Quarters, St. Mary's, MD 15 NOV 1685.⁽³⁹¹⁾ Thomas died 1725 at 39 years of age.⁽³⁹²⁾ He married Mary BAYNE ABT 1705.⁽³⁹³⁾

37 iii. Gerard DENT was born in Nanjemoy, Charles, MD 3 FEB 1688. Gerard died 1689 at 1 year of age. He was baptized 7 FEB 1689. Religion: religion unknown.
