I like to walk with Grandma,
Her eyes see things like mine do...
Wee pebbles bright,
a funny cloud,
Half-hidden drops of dew.

Most people have to hurry,
They do not stop and see...
I'm glad that God made Grandma,
Unrushed and young like me!

This page dedicated in loving memory of Sadie Thigpen. My great-grandmother who passed away on December 28, 1991. Had she lived until her next birthday, October 21, 1992, she would have been 100 years old. Her favorite hymn was "Amazing Grace". At her funeral, the preacher said that his son had always told him that he liked to go to Miss Sadie's house because it was always summer there. He was right.
