This recipe was just mailed to me by a woman that I work with. It was sent to her by a friend of hers that lives in Austin, Texas. Thanks for the new recipe to add to my page.
TEA CAKE COOKIES
2 sticks of butter
2 eggs
2 cups sugar
4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
dash of salt
1 tsp. (or more) vanilla
Mix first three ingredients and blend together. Mix dry ingredients, then mix all together. Knead with a little more flour, roll out and cut. Bake at 350 until golden, about 15 minutes depending on how thick you cut them. Makes a large batch. You can cut this recipe in half and it works well too. At Christmas you can use sprinkles or any decoration you like. ENJOY!
