RESCUES NATIONWIDE
There are several organizations like ours across the nation saving hundreds of horses each year, all breeds and all ages, many of which you will find below. Although most of the organizations listed here take in abused, unwanted or slaughterbound horses, there are also many organizations that help to educate people on abuse and horse ownership which are also considered rescues. Most of these organizations are non-profit (501(c)(3) or "not for profit" and desperately need donations to continue to save and help these horses. We urge you to find a rescue close to you and support it with your time, donations of needed supplies, or just helping to inform the public they exist. Every person who owns a horse, every horse club, every stable owner, and every business that deals directly or indirectly with horses or horse people needs to be aware that these organizations exist and support them in whatever way they can.

We also support PMUbabyTREK and the great women of the PMU Mailing List. These woman banned together to save foals from auction and slaughter in Canada and have done a wonderful job of getting foals for people all across the United States.
Be sure to check out Cyberfoal 2000 if you have an orphaned foal. This group will help you find a surrogate mare, colostrum, and answer questions you may have about how to help a foal survive without its mother. Another place to look for rescues is on Petsmart as they have an extensive listing of rescues also.
