RAINBOW ACRES HORSE RESCUE & C.A.R.E.

Rainbow Acres Horse Rescue & C.A.R.E.. is located in Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA.  We are dedicated to helping save horses from abuse, neglect and slaughter.  Since we do not have any land of our own and had to depend on foster homes for horses we took in, we have changed the direction of our rescue toward education and helping people and rescues connect.  We no longer take in horses that need homes, instead we direct their owners to other rescues who are able to help in that area, or, if we can match the horse up with someone on our waiting list of people wanting to adopt we will do the adoption ourselves.

Through our C.A.R.E. Program (Citizens Aiding Rescues Everywhere) we attempt to help other rescues match horses up with perspective owners and also people needing homes for their horse up to a rescue close to them.  Grant and fundraising information is sent to rescues requesting information on funding, and we try to aid people who are interested in starting a rescue in their own area.  

There is one organization that we support and promote. This organization is called PMUbaby Trek, which is an organized group of people across the United States and Canada who wanted to help find homes for the PMU foals, and educate women about the different types of Hormone Replacement Therapy available..  We urge everyone to find out what they are about and support them with donations, or by joining their group and adopting a foal.
