You Can Help
As I've struggled through the grief that accompanied my daughter's death, I have found that I often am happiest when I'm doing something worthwhile. Maybe it gives me some assurance there is still good in the world. And your help is needed now as much as any other time of year as a blood and/or platelet donor.
This is a cause near and dear to my heart because I have seen firsthand how vital it is to the life of a child or adult fighting the ravages of cancer and chemotherapy. They need blood and platelet transfusions on an almost daily basis. But maintaining an adequate blood supply is important for other reasons too. Traffic accidents, emergency surgeries, etc. all place a heavy demand on blood supplies that run short this time of year.
It doesn't matter what blood type you are, or even if you don't know. The volunteers at the American Red Cross can type your blood while you wait. And all types are needed. It is virtually painless and only takes a short while. Afterwards you'll even be rewarded with juice and cookies. :) But more importantly, you can walk away knowing that you have definitely made a positive difference in this world. And your blood may mean the difference between life and death for someone else. Once you donate, you will most likely want to do it again. It just feels THAT GOOD!!!
Please call your local Red Cross or hospital today to find more about donating blood in your area. It will be the best call you ever make.
Love,
Judy
