Aboard ship

Adventure #1

After arriving at our cabin aboard ship my mother needed to go and sign some forms. So she left us three oldest in charge and asked us to watch the twins. That was easy enough.....just sit them on the lower bunk and put the tray of cookies there with them! LOL

Looking around the cabin my brother, Steve, noticed a bright shiny panel loaded with glowing buttons!

Uh-oh! You have it! .....hmmmmmm what are all these pretty buttons for?

Well, any self respecting 7 years old girl just has to know! And if you know Liz, then you know how I just LOVE to click! LOL

So, of course, what else? I clicked! I clicked every single one of those buttons except the one Steve told me I had better leave alone! That button was bigger than the others and red! Steve told me that red means "danger". So I left that one alone!

Before very long there was a knock at the door. Steve, knowing that he shouldn't open the door, yelled, "Who's there!" And surprise! Surprise! He received several answers! From several people! LOL!

Those buttons were to call different services on the ship! And they all showed up! <grin>

After being reasured and convinced it was safe, Steve opened the cabin door to see the whole corridor full of grownups. (or so it seemed to me!)

One man, a very nice man, bent down to meet me in the eye and asked, "Was it YOU who pushed all the buttons?"

(I liked him because he got down to my level and didn't leave me staring all the way up to him :-) like most adults do)

I shyly, hesitantly nodded my head. He was smiling and laughing and had sent everyone else away.

He explained what all the buttons were for and then asked me, "Why didn't you press the red one also?"

After explaining very patiently to him that red means danger he told me it was very good that I didn't because the red one is incase of FIRE!

I replied, "I sure am glad I didn't press that one because it would be no fun having the whole cabin and me included soaked down by the firemen's hoses!"

About that time my mommy arrived to hear my last remark!
Oh boy! <grinning>

My last remark was, "By the way, which button was it to call for more cookies?"

<smiling> I hope you liked my little story

More to come.
