Newfoundland

Was the last province to join the Dominion of Canada on March 31,1949

The province of Newfoundland includes the (island of Newfoundland) as well as Labrador, a larger region on the Canadian mainland.
Nearly everyone in the province of Newfoundland grows up with the smell of salt in the air and the sound of waves crashing against a rocky shore. In
Labrador dozens of small fishing villages line the rugged coast. Throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, several dozen summer festivals highlight the traditions of the people. Life in the outports is saluted at the Fish, Fun and Folk Festival in Twillingate. At Point Amour, Labradorians sing, dance and eat berries at the Bake-apple Folk Festival. Codco and the Rising Tide Theatre head the list of comedy groups in the province.
