ANNIVERSARY

I am at a loss each day
When we are not together,
I'd like to find a way
That we may touch each other;
Though the seas divide us,
And letters have long been gone,
I still see youth that was
Sporting a new love for fun.
Today, I'm more mature,
Having spent some time with you,
Rather, I am less sure
For I've never seen you thru
With the lines of your palm:
Budding words are an attempt
To make a soothing balm,
And these will entice and tempt
Summer to pass away
Without feelings of regret,
Nearing again the day,
One year ago when we met.
