Here I am again!
At least I thought so, when I was younger. My perception now is much different. It goes like this: " There's no fool like a young fool!"
Before you get bent out of shape, I was a young fool once upon a time, and now I'm an old fool. But I'm trying to get better.
An old fool, you see, doesn't have much of his life to waste, while a young fool has a bunch. And one of the things that fools do best is waste lives.
No, I didn't really waste my life... just that part up to a year or so ago. Even if I survive, that's still a pretty good chunk of life. But as long as I keep living, the percentage will keep dropping. The math is true.
And who's to say that I have quit being a fool? Well, just me, I guess. That's all I really need, after all... just me. If the rest of the world still judges me a fool, so be it. Actually, the rest of the world kinda thought that I was doing OK the other way, when I was young. The rest of the world was wrong then, and it'd be wrong now.
But the rest of the world doesn't know me now... only me and you. And you don't know me very well, either.
Another old saw... ignorance is bliss. Well, probably. But bliss is not happiness if it is based on ignorance. Happiness, actually, is only based on what you feel.
And you can make yourself feel anything that you want to.
You can make yourself miserable. I've known a lot of people who do this.
You can make yourself sad. Hey, grief happens to everyone. Get over it, get back to your life.
You can make yourself love, you can make yourself hate. And everything in between.
It's your choice, dammit. What we are, how we feel, is 10% what happens to us, and 90% how we feel about it and what we do about it. Pretty easy math, huh?
Don't worry....
Until next time....
