San Diego Auction a Success!
On Saturday, August 15th an auction was held at the San Diego Comicon to benefit Karen Shaffer, the wife of Gaiman's friend & colleague Charles Vess. (Karen was involved in a car accident last month and suffered a serious spinal injury, requiring surgery and extensive (and costly) rehabilation.) Far too many works were donated to fit into this first auction (which raised $36,000), so a second auction was held at DragonCon in Atlanta. There are also plans for an online auction (see item, above) to include Neil Gaiman's Original Good Omen's Manuscript. Also in the works is a benefit book: it will be an illustrated Stardust short story written by Neil. The benefit book is slated for release sometime in early 1999.

Neil Gaiman & Charles Vess' Stardust!
This four-issue story is now available as an illustrated hard cover, with a prose printing sans illustrations soon to follow. The cover layouts look mighty nifty; more details later!
