Reviews For Nov. 30- Dec. 4

  1. *** The Farmer And His Corn By Jo Ann Mann
Jo---You make me laugh, which is good. I thought he was growing corn on his feet or between his toes! All I can say is, is there anyway I can get to meet you and your husband? Keep writing. You two must have a blast together. What a neat couple you are. Gerri

  2. **** Change By Jennifer Lawson
Jen-You ask some good questions in your poem, questions the reader is probably asking, too. When you say, "man" did you mean an individual man, or did you mean people, in general, just be as specific as you can so reader gets your meaning. Of course, I can be dense at times. Gerri

  3. ***** Tears By Jennifer Lawson
Jen-yes, general message quite good. Tears are a great way to express ourselves as you well know. I got confused a bit as you switched gender on me a bit---forget exactly what you did--when you reread piece, go over who you discuss Gerri

  4. ***** DreamVision By Angel Alvarenga
I'm not usually into dragons, but I liked the one offered to me by you. Could see it clearly--great vision. Gerri

  5. ***** Leaves By R.L. Walker
Another winner. What a great idea to include the graphics! I have a piano student who said that the graphics on the cover of her music did not speak of her concept of the piece, so I had her draw a picture of what she saw in her mind. Her preliminary sketches are producing an interesting idea. Raye McDonald

  6. ***** The Fling By Bruce Longman
Well written, concise, and too real- a great piece. James Lewellen

  7. ***** Mary Rose O'Donnell by Alice Bateman
I have many questions that I hope are answered. A good start to an interesting premise Jerry Lewellen

  8. ***** Is Santa Really Santa Clause? by Jessica Sayers
I am not so sure that Santa is satan, but the column has gotten me thinking about it. I no longer look forward to Christmas because of all the commercialization. Elena

  9. ***** Mary Rose O'Donnell by Alice Bateman
I LUV IT!!!!!!!!!! Touching....the best Krystal Molineaux

  10. ***** The Vowby Eric Rodriguez
Eric- Good plot. You get 5 points for scaring me. (I loved to be scared.) You needed a slower pace, I believe. Good piece. Gerri

  11. **** Leaves By R.L. Walker
Another winner. What a great idea to include the graphics! I have a piano student who said that the graphics on the cover of her music did not speak of her concept of the piece, so I had her draw a picture of what she saw in her mind. Her preliminary sketches are producing an interesting idea. Thanks for this lovely writing. I enjoy your submissions on nature. Raye McDonald

  12. **** Audition By Megan Estey
A little short, but I enjoyed it--probably because I have an unreasoning fear of auditions. I liked the last two lines especially Nathan Black

  13. ***** When the World Died By Melissa Thompson
opinion of the story and author = Although it needs work, I found this story interesting, and sad. I was very compelled, and wanted to know more about what was to happen to Raven's friends. - a great read, I recommend it. Violet

  14. ***** Mary Rose O'Donnell by Alice Bateman
This is great, your story line lures you in, grabs hold and keeps your interest...I love the sturucture, content, idea and your writing style and I like the idea you of where you are taking it. Diana Keeton

This poem reminds me of my college days. It brings back the sweaty palms and butterflies clearly. Allison Emerson

  17. ***** Is Santa Really Santa Clause By Jessica Sayers
This entry is so funny. Never did realize that Santa could be Satan. Kinda scary huh?????? Anyway, guess the kids gotta watch out since the BIG dude will be back in less then 21 days. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Linh Nguyen

  18. **** Maybe By Megan Estey
Megan, this is a good poem. It actually reminds me of my first date with a very special woman- my wife. The end is certainly unexpected, though, and shows that it was written by a teenager. Matt Sanderson

  19. ***** Maybe By Megan Estey
This poem reminds me of "Happy Days". It has a very 50's feel to it. I love the imagery of the "honey colored starlight" and "lilac-scented night". Lucy-Stewart Parker

  20. ***** The Joys Of Trailer Living By Charilette Rai Sweeney
Charilette, this was so well written....I've never lived in a trailer home, but after reading this, I hope that I never have to - perhaps living in a car or a fleabag hotel would be more comfortable. What a story - and you wrote it so well. Raye McDonald

  21. ***** When The World Died By Melissa Thompson
I loved it. I would definantly give this author credit on her story. Raven

  22. ***** WhyBy Lizbeth Downhour
Why is a question so often asked, but so often never answered. To try to finger out the answer is as hard as understanding the univerus, Ms. Downhour has captured this and the teen world so well. Jessica Sayer

  23. ***** Snow By R.L. Walker
Snow is my favourite thing of winter and even if my little city here in Canada still doesn't have any of it on the ground, I can always read R.L. Walker's poem and remember why I like snow, childhood memories I had. The poem is a good piece with lots of humour, and the picture doesn't hurt either. Jessica Sayer

  24. ***** Someday By Parker Lykins
I liked the fact that you didn't give clarity to who "she" is. That maintained the tone/mood for me. PJ

  25. ***** Leaves By R.L. Walker
Delightful! I had such fun rolling the words around on my tongue! And the graphics were a refreshing change. PJ

  26. ***** Mary Rose O'Donnell By Alice Bateman
I MUST read Chapter 2 right now! How will Mary ever be able to wait 13 days??? Glenda St. John

I thought the poem was very touching--touched my heart Mona Thibodeaux

  32. ***** The Joys Of Living In A Trailer By Charilette Rai Sweeney
Excellent, fast-paced adventure story. The perils of trailer technology face off in a battle for human dignity with a woman and her children. Happy ending -- replaced by a house, a grand trailer-burning party! burton milward, jr.
