Self-Portrait 3 Side-profile of self. Two mirrors were put up, one on my left, the other my right. Image referred to was the left side of my face, meaning I looked at the right mirror. Okay... that's confusing.

Final: (18th Jan 99)
420 × 594 mm, Acrylics on white board.

This is the fourth self-portrait I've done within these two years. (But I only scanned three.) Self portraits can mean more than just narcissism and whatever unfound accusations, for self portraits can be reflective of one's psyche and position (figuratively speaking) at the point of drawing.

Flaws: Lips are done strangely.

Portrait of "Idealised" Joeann Portrait of Joeann.

Final: (6th Jan 99)
297 × 420 mm, Acrylics on white board

I was Joeann's portraiture model for the whole of the past year, hence when I had an assignment to do, I called her down to 'repay the many hours of modelling' I did for her. She obliged, and the "ideal version of me"(as mouthed by Joe) was drawn. Of course she had to meddle with the piece a little.

Flaws: If you didn't know, that bad streak on the right of the pic at her neck, is supposed to be her friggin hair-tail.

Self Portrait 2 (Vacant and Accurate Version) Self portrait, full frontal.

Final: (22nd Dec 98)
420 b× 594 mm, Acrylics on American Paper.

The picture isn't complete, as I cut away a whole lot of it when scanning.

This is perhaps the closest resemblance to me I can get from portraits of myself, by whoever it is. Most people instantly recognise me when looking at this. The portrait was also rather reflective; I was trying to do a good portrait for an obituary of myself. Hence that strange sense of vacancy and aloof.

Self-Portrait 1 (Red Ribbon Pin) Self portrait, 3 quad upwards.

Final: (4th Dec 98)
420 × 594 mm, Graphite pencil and acrylic on American Paper.

This was the second portrait done in the december holidays. (The first scanned.) This was of me wearing the Red Ribbon for AIDS. The mirror had to be tilted to an odd angle to capture this view. Most people think this portrait emits a sense of condescension and arrogance.

Portrait of Arab Portraiture Model Portrait of an Arab model for my Promotional Exams.

Final: (Early-Sept 98)
(Dimensions unknown, but bigger than A2), Acrylics on white board.

For my Promotional Exams (the examination taken by all first year students to determine if they should promote to the second year), I was to do a portraiture and include the face, shoulders, arms and hands. I couldn't get a model, so joined another friend in doing her model. The portraiture obviously doesn't resemble the model, her skin colour isn't as Chinese-skin toned, and personally, I think this one looks like an alien.
