Rupinder's Page of Football

As you may have learned from the about me section I am a keen football fan. I have supported Manchester United and Leicester City for many years but I like to keep up with all aspects of sports.

On this page you will find links to other pages and a whole number of opinions on football and every so often I shall be having a vote on a current footballing issue. At this present moment I think that the title chase for the Premier League is now a two horse race between Manchester United and Liverpool. I tipped Liverpool from the start but now I'm not so sure. The two teams have been playing very well lately and I think whoever can win the match when they meet at Anfield will probably go on and win the title. No prizes for guessing who I'm rooting for.

Now onto the tricky topic of relegation. There are so many teams that could go down this season. Teams such as Southampton, West Ham United, Derby County, Sunderland, Leicester City, Coventry City, Middlesborough or Blackburn and Nottingham Forest

Southampton have failed to continue a run of wins after picking up the odd point now and then. After their brilliant 6-3 win over Manchester United there hasn't been much to celebrate and although the recent foreign signings have been skilful, they haven't been able to keep up with the speed of the game. I don't think Matthew Le Tissier will be enough to get Southampton out of trouble, I think Southampton will be one of the three teams to go down.

West Ham United had an excellent season last year and looked as though they might continue this run but a recent number of bad games have put them in trouble. Nevertheless, they should pull themselves up and at least survive.

Recently promoted Derby County are playing well on occasion but their inconsistency could be their downfall. Dean Sturridge is excellent up front and scores some spectacular goals. Derby should stay up.

On the other hand the relegation battle is still wide open as it ever was. A number of teams are could still be destined for the drop. I have my own predictions. I don't think Middlesborough will go down although they are still bottom. Their form is beginning to pick up and I think they can still do it. I have changed my views slightly. Instead of Sunderland, I think that Coventry will be playing First Division along with Southampton and Nottingham Forest.

The FA cup has been full of surprises this season. I tipped two weaker and two stronger sides from the premiership who I predicted for the cup. Only Middlesborough are left and I believe that they will meet Chelsea in the final, I think Middlesborough might just sneak the final as they have had an excellent cup run.

I successfully predicted the final of the Coca Cola cup and Leicester are there, Hooray! They might just win it if they can contain Middlesborough star side but this is a tough one to call.
