Latest interview with Dave Gahan

taken by Shunt Team (possibly Alan Wilder ;))

Q: Are you enjoying living in 'the city that never sleeps'? Any chance you will ever move back to England?

A: I love living in New York. I have lived in the U.S.A. for the best part of ten years now and think it very unlikly that I would move back to the U.K. (maybe Ireland).

Q: Care to comment on meeting up with Alan again after so much time?

A: It was so great to see Alan. I miss him creatively and how he shaped Martin's songs with all his ideas. But most of all I just miss the old closet!!!

Q: How are your computer skills? What do you think of the internet and new technology in general?

A: I am very slow and very impatient with my computer. I think technology is great and there to be used but really a bore when we let it use us.

Q: What music are you currently listening to?

A: I've been listening to the usual: Zep, Sabbath, Purple... anything really heavy - and you can Quote me on that!

Q: How about films? Any current favourites?

A: Sweet & Lowdown with Sean Penn, SLAM, Iron Giant and a lot of Hollywood crap!!!

Q: Have you attended any gigs or shows recently?

A: I've seen friends live at the Knitting Factory (NY club). Oh, and Beck, which I enjoyed. He was a lot of fun.

Q: Anything else you'd like to add?

A: Thanks for the blinding Recoil CD, Charlie.

P.S. Sorry about messing up your hotel room, maaaannnnn!!!
