Fethiye
After 2 days at Antalya, we travelled to Fethiye to spend the night which is an interesting change. The last few places that we have visited, the main currency is US$ but here in Fethiye, as we walked around the town, it is the German mark and the British pound. The weather is getting cooler now but to our dismay, the hotel that we stayed in has no hot shower!
Anyway, we visited the town center and went shopping for Turkish Delights. This I have to recommnend, especially if you happen to have sweet tooth. The shop that we went into actually allowed us to try every variety of Turkish Delights they have before buying. They gave each of us individual boxes so that we can pick and choose which ones we liked. Yummy!
The next morning, we visited the ghost village of Kayakoy which happened because there was a resident exchange between Greece and Turkey. Apparently, both these countries are not on good terms but there are Turks living in Greece and vice-versa. So, both the countries talked and decided to have an exchange to let the people return to their native countries. Turns out that Kayakoy consists almost entirely of Greeks and when they left, the village became a ghost village. It's still beautiful though, esp with the squarish white houses which is the style for almost all the houses here.

Scenes from the mud-bath at Dalyan DeltaNext stop is the Dalyan Delta river cruise: the highlight was the mud-bath which both Shuhui and I enjoyed tremendously. We have to first wash ourselves under a cold shower (no hot shower available) before going into the mudpool and cover ourselves with mud. Then we sun ourselves dry before going again into the mudpool to remove all traces of the mud. Then it's off to the showers again before we take a dip in the hot sulphur pool. After the relaxing dip, we went for a final shower before towelling off and change into our clothes. Needless to say, we were pretty clean after that... .

Rock tombs from the Dalyan DeltaAfter the mud bath, we cruised along the Dalyan Delta and saw some more rock tombs which were really impressive. These looks like the ones in Myra but they were carved 50 to 100 feet above ground. The best thing is that we stopped for lunch by the river overlooking these wonderful sights. We visited a beach which is quite OK unless you take into the account of hundreds of tourists sunbathing (some who are not wearing anything)...kinda weird when you think that Turkey is an Islamic country.
We later travelled to the city of Bodrum to spend the night.
