A Malaysian in Singapore: Honeymoon

Cities: Istanbul - Part 1 | Cappadocia | Konya | Antalya | Fethiye
Bodrum | Pamukkale | Ephesus | Pergamon | Istanbul - Part 2

Going to Turkey for our honeymoon must be one of the beter decisions we have made for our wedding plans. Initially, we had wanted to visit Sangalaki to dive with the famed manta-rays. That was before the kidnapping incident at Sipadan. After that, it looks like it will be quite a while before we can dive in Borneo (altho' I am still very much interested to dive in Sipadan, Mabul, Sangalaki and Layang Layang).

Anyway, we booked our trip with Ananda Travel. The usual duration for this trip is 10 days but after looking at the itinerary, we can barely cover anything in 10 days. We also talked with some friends who has been on the same trip and they said that it involved lots of travelling on coaches (which we later found out to be very true).

So, we tried to sign up for the 13 day tour with other agencies but somehow none offered this option. The only agency willing to consider is Ananda. We signed up for it in the NATAS fair (we were the 1st) and hope that the agency would help us to organize a tour group. When Melvin called up the good news, we were simply overjoyed!

We boarded Turkish Airline (plane was an Airbus) from Changi Airport. To our surprise, the flight was actually pretty good with minimal turbulence...compared to most of our other flights. Our first taste of Turkey was actually this drink called "cherry juice". None of us had any before so we din't know what to expect. Let me tell you - cherry juice is wonderful!

Anyway, enough talk on how and why, let's proceed to the travelogue. By the way, most of the photos were taken by Shuhui. Enjoy!
