Who is Will Reed?
Son of Samantha Brady, born to Austin and Sami, biologically fathered by Lucas Roberts, and pawn extraordinaire in Sami's old schemes. Austin loved this little boy, who he thought was his son for the better part of two years. When it was discovered that Austin's half-brother, Lucas, was supposedly Will's father, Austin still tried to make himself part of Will's life. Lucas loves his son, as does Sami. For Will's sake, Sami has tried her hardest to find a good father figure for him.

What is his main conflict?
Will has some seriously disturbed parental figures. His mother will do anything to bring a male role model into his life, "Uncle Austin" still wants to be his daddy, "Daddy Lucas" has seriously injured him when he kidnapped him and drove away from the scene of a crime, drunk as a skunk, and got into an accident. Basically, Will is an unwilling pawn. He's been kidnapped, sold on the black market, kidnapped again, ended up in a coma, and now faces life without his mother or his father.

What would I do with Will if I were a DOOL writer?

First and foremost, stop letting stupid and dangerous people take care of him. Shawn and Caroline Brady are pretty much responsible and no nonsense with their children. Let them raise Will.
Keep his psycho-grandmas Kate and Marlena as far from him as possible. Anyone who hangs around Marlena will be kidnapped by Stefano, and anyone who hangs around with Kate will turn into a really nasty and petty person.
Let him develop a relationship with his father, Lucas. Will and Lucas could be great together if only they could spend time together. So for that to happen, have Lucas stop drinking.

What impact could Will have on B&H Inc.?

Will was originally the catalyst that ripped Carrie and Austin apart because Sami claimed he was Austin's son. With Austin's need to be a good father, Will could once again become extremely important. If Austin and Sami grow closer together, Will might end up calling Austin "Daddy" after all.

My thoughts about the character of Will:
Someone, please, get a speech therapist for the Carpenter twins. Sure, both Shawn and Taylor are heart-breakers, but I'd like to hear them speak once in awhile. All Will has really said has been "Hi" and "Daddy" in the past three years!
