Photography


I have been interested in photography since 1982, mainly landscape shots and my work was first published in 1986. A special interest of mine is special effects, particularly in black and white e.g. supoerinposing pictures and using computer-graphics. My particular favourite medium is E6 and I also enjoy preparing slide-shows.

W hilst a student I managed the photographic club in a student hostel called "Haus Technik" and gave courses in black and white photography, advanced colour photography (developing and printing), CIBACHROME-techniques and the E6 and C41-Processes.

City Art / Art-city?

Democracy came about through cities,
and it is the cities which have preserved
and developed it throughout the centuries.

To understand the true nature of a city,
its character and its laws,
you have to read it like a Palimpsest,
to study it like papyrus or parchment sheets,
so precious that they have been wiped clean
many times to be used again for new writings,
but which nevertheless always retain
some traces of all the previous content.
