SALVADOR |
The
Salvadoran air post service was inaugurated on January 1st, 1930, when Pan American Airway System was ready for carry the mail by airplanes.

the Salvadorian Goverment did not have stamps for airmail service, they ordered the following surcharges: 15 cents on 10 cents; 20 cents on 20 cents; 25 cents on 35 cents; 40 cents on 50 cents and 50 cents on 1 colon.

One
of the First Air Post Stamps. Overprinted "Servicio Aéreo"Goverment
made 2 printing of these surcharges, except 40 cents value. The first printing was made by Taller Nacional de Grabados and the second by Tribunal Superior de Cuentas because these stamps were selling out quickly.
