On the move

Carlos has moved his site to a new address: http://gknight.allgames.com/home.htm. St.George's Website is now an affiliate of allgames.com. I'm not sure exactly what this means, however I think it will lead to more exposure for GK3 - definitely a good thing! Carlos is also looking for ways to improve his site, so let him know if you think of anything.

GK3 Preview

Last Friday, Gamecenter published its exclusive Gabriel Knight III Preview. It gives us the most thorough preview of GK3 to date with both new and old information. Here are some highlights of the newest revelations:

  • The entire game spans 3 days. Instead of chapters, the game is broken up into 13 two-hour time blocks.
  • In order to find the prince's kidnapped son, Gabriel and Grace will have to solve Rennes-le-Château's 1,000-year-old mystery involving Bérenger Saunière and the treasure of the Templars.
  • Along with Gabriel, Grace, and Mosely, there are 10 to 15 other characters, each hoping to discover Saunière's treasure, and each a suspect in the kidnapping.
  • There are more red herrings, and each of the characters will have to be investigated (ie. eavesdrop on their conversations, spy on them with binoculars, and other fun detective-type things :-).
  • GK3 supports 16-bit color and bilinear filtering. Also, the characters and objects do not pixelate as you approach them.
  • Gabriel's past and the lineage of the Schattenjägers will relate to the mystery of Rennes-le-Château.
  • GK3 will not require 3D acceleration, but it will run significantly faster with the aid of a 3D card. The baseline specs will be a P133 with 32MB of RAM.
  • There are several images in the article that cannot be found at the Official GK3 Site. You can find these in my GK3 Images section.

    Update

Sierra's Official GK3 Site has been updated! Check out GK3 Overview for a glimpse at what's new. The updates will be a lot smaller since the GK3 team is working harder than ever to make sure they create the best game possible - not a bad thing in my opinion, the game is much more important than the website! :-)
