Site Updated
The Official GK3 Site has been updated. Lots of terrific new screenshots, an introduction to Madeline Buthane (the "redhead"), and voice clips for all of the known characters! For the Adventure GamerThere are a couple of websites that I'd like to direct you to. First, if you haven't visited Quandry recently, check out the excellent new article, Quest/Adventure Games ... Going; Going; Gone?. And for all you fans of game music, there's now a webzine devoted to this topic: Computer Game Music Monthly - "dedicated to promoting knowledge [of] computer game music and the composers who create it". |

Game Music at the Grammys?
The Adreneline Vault features a new article about game music and the effort to have it recognized in a new category at the Grammys. The movement to create a new category is championed by Chance Thomas, the composer for Quest for Glory V. "'There is still a vast segment of the public that perceives computer game music as second-rate and amateurish,' Thomas laments. 'A Grammy award would raise some eyebrows and draw attention to the outstanding things being done.'" Farewell KimmusThe Weblady Kimmus, Sierra's lead moderator for over two years, is no longer moderating Sierra's message boards. She left farewell messages at the Adventure Games and Mystery Games message boards and at the X-Yosemite Forum. |

News from Ray
In the first issue of Pissing in the Wind, we found out that Ray Chitolie's Official GK Fan Fiction Archive will be moving to Sidney. Ray is leaving Easynet, which has hosted the Domain of Schattenägers for almost three years. You'll find more details in Ray's News section. For those attending the reunion...I have a tip for anyone planning attend the reunion tonight: once you join the program, change to another room. There's a bug in the software so new visitors are not bounced to different rooms when the first one is full. The first room became very crowded last week, making it almost impossible to follow any conversation. However there were about five other rooms with fifteen or fewer people - much more manageable! |

Sierra Reunion Archived
The reunion which took place last Saturday at Talkspot has been archived. You'll need a RealAudio player (available for free at http://www.real.com). The show was terrific - the two hours seemed to fly by. The mood was very light until the last half-hour when Ken read aloud a very touching email that he had received. Ken received so many pictures that he could not show them all on the show. He plans to create a memorial page at Talkspot in order to share all of them. JA +Just Adventure On-Line Magazine is now called Just Adventure Plus. The editors have decided to expand their site's content to include games which contain adventure elements such as RPGs and action/adventures. And speaking of editors, JA founder Craig White has "retired", and Randy Sluganski and Jenny Guenther (aka Cindy Crawford) have taken over as editors. |

Visit the Shrine
Jon Bock added a Yosemite Entertainment Shrine to the Active Worlds 3D Universe. You'll need an Active Worlds browser, which you can download at http://www.activeworlds.com/. After you install it, enter Active Worlds as a guest, then teleport to Alpha World coordinates 545N 142E. Explore the area, look at the pictures, read the signs. You can also plant a flower if you'd like: right click on any flower to bring up the "object building interface". Duplicate the flower and move it to a new location. Flowers can be placed on any BRIGHT GREEN area of open ground. The flower filename can be changed to plant different types of flowers (flower1.rwx - flower8.rwx). Each flower can have a unique message and hyperlink. |
