The Robotech/Macross Chronology Chronology

Here's the basic timeline for the events before and surrouding the First Robotech War.

• In The Beginning...
  • Zor is born on Tirol.
  • Zor theorizes about the uses of the substance called Protoculture which is derived from the Invid Flower of Life.
  • Zor seduces the Invid Regis and steals a sample of an Invid Flower.
  • The Invid declare war on Tirol for Zor's crime.
  • Zor invents Robotechnology and uses it and Tirol's other advanced sciences to create a genetically engineered race called the Zentraedi orginally for mining purposes and then retrained for war.
  • Using the Zentraedi, the Invid are beaten back but not for long.
  • Zor builds one of his finest inventions: SDF-1.
  • On a trip to seed other worlds with the Flower of Life for Protoculture production, Zor is killed in a battle with the Invid. Breetai rescues Dolza who was with Zor at the time but gets half his face blown off in the process.
  • Zor's Disciples steal SDF-1 as for his orders and take it to Earth. The survivng members of that skeleton crew bailed out as SDF-1 neared Earth.
• Before And During The Global War
  • Gloval served under Hayes.
  • Roy was part of "Pop" Hunter's Air Circus and became Rick's "Big Brother".
  • Roy joined the army and the war broke out.
  • Gloval obtained command of the Kenosha.
  • Roy and Kramer served under Gloval aboard the Kenosha.
  • Karl Riber joins (drafted?) the military and gets reassigned to Mars Sara Base.
  • Lisa joins the military in order to follow Karl to Mars.
• 1999
  • SDF-1 crashed to Earth making a violent crash on Macross Island. Pressure rings circled the Earth causing earthquakes, tsunamis, and winds strong enough to topple skyscrappers.
  • Kenosha is the first ship on the scene.
  • Gloval, Roy, and Lang are some of the first people to go into SDF-1 where they are chased around by automated security, find dead bodies, and Lang fiddles with a computer and gets his eyes shocked black.
  • Global War ends and the RDF UEDC is established.
  • SDF-1 begins refitting for Human use.
• After 1999
  • Jack "Pop" Hunter dies in an accident before Roy has a chance to return to the Air Circus.
  • Mars Sara Base is attacked by Anti-Government Forces and many of the staff is killed. Karl is classifed as MIA.
• February 1, 2007
  • Roy is chosen to test out the Arumon-Grumman YVF-14A Tigercat Prototype 001 Fighter-Guardian (i.e., the very first prototype Veritech).
  • Focke begins his attack on RDF forces in the Middle East while submitting a message to RDF Command that he wishes a dual between himself and Roy.
  • Roy and Lisa are called to RDF Headquarters at Macross City where Gloval tells them about Focke.
  • Late that night, Roy, Lisa, and the Tigetcat Squadron launch to fight Focke.
• February 2, 2007
  • Roy's Squadron engages the Anti-Government forces. Roy duals with Focke's Blue Max Fighter-Guardian.
• June 20, 2009
  • Roy flies to "Dreamland" (AKA Area 51) and runs into Lisa who is prepping the YVF-14 for a flight to a museum.
• From Launching Day Onward.
  • SDF-1 completes refit.
  • Launching Day Celebrations on Macross Island begin.
  • Rick flies to Macross City to see Roy.
  • Breetai's fleet emerges from Hyperspace and tracks SDF-1 to Earth. They send two scouts.
  • SDF-1's sensors detect the approaching Zentraedi ships and automatically ignites the Main Gun.
  • The destruction of the scouts shows Breetai that SDF-1 IS on the planet and his fleet advances.
  • Gloval scrambles the fleet convinced that war is coming.
  • The RDF's Armor Cruisers and their fighters scrambled out to fight the Zentraedi but were defeated.
  • The Zentraedi begin air and ground attacks against SDF-1 and Senator Russo orders Gloval to take off.
  • Rick is mistaken for a military pilot by Lisa and ordered to take off. Rick does so and ends up crashing his fighter. Rick discovers the Veritech's transforming ability.
  • Rick meets Minmei and attempts to operate his Battloid but ends up crashing it again.
  • Roy instructs Rick on how to fly a Veritech.
  • Roy saves Minmei from a Battlepod. Rick tries to give her a ride.
  • SDF-1 attempts to take off but fails due to problems with the Gravity Pods.
  • Rick and Minmei have a Close Encounter of the Third Kind until Roy shoots the offending Zentraedi soldier in the back. Rick discovers that the aliens are giants.
  • SDF-1 manages to take off using its Back Up Engines.
  • Roy flies out to escort SDF-1 but soon realizes that Rick did now follow him.
  • Roy retrieves Rick and Minmei and returns to SDF-1.
  • SDF-1's support fleet is attacked and destroyed by the Zentraedi. Gloval decides to fold the ship to the dark side of the Moon.
  • Rick decides he doesn't want to stay aboard SDF-1 and leaves with Minmei aboard Rick's stunt plane, the Mockingbird.
  • SDF-1 folds into Hyperspace while over Macross Island. Macross Island is pulled into Hyperspace along with SDF-1.
• Pluto
  • SDF-1 emerges from Hyperspace along with Macross Island at the orbit of Pluto. The Island freezes over and much of the war torn city is destroyed when SDF-1 crashes into the island. The civilians were able to survive because they were in sealed underground bunkers. The crews of the carriers Prometheus and Daedalus are killed by the vacuum of space.
  • The remaining Zentraedi forces that were sucked into the fold were defeated.
  • Rick and Minmei manage to survive the fold and pilot their plane into a closed off section of SDF-1.
  • Dr. Lang finds that the Fold Drives have mysteriously vanished.
  • The civilians are brought aboard SDF-1 and Macross City is rebuilt using the Fabricators in one of SDF-1's cargo holds.
  • The Daedalus and Prometheus are refitting for space use and "docked" with SDF-1.
  • Rick and Minmei spend two weeks trapped below decks before being rescued.
• Enroute to Saturn
  • Breetai's fleet finds SDF-1 and resumes their attack. Breetai learns he's dealing with "Micronians".
  • Dr. Lang informs Gloval that with the Fold Drives missing, the Main Gun can no longer be fired in Cruiser Mode. During battle, Gloval finds that he has no choice but to transform the ship into Attack Mode. Macross City is totalled.
  • Rick decides to join the RDF.
• Saturn
  • Rick finishes training.
  • Gloval plans to hide in Saturn's ring and ambush the Zentraedi in a blitzkrieg.
  • Dr. Lang invents the Pin-Point Barrier System.
  • Breetai dispatches Captain Zeril to find and capture SDF-1.
  • The Barrier System malfunctions and the Main Gun refuses to fire.
  • Lisa invents the Daedalus Maneuver in the heat of battle. Zeril's Destroyer is obliterated.
• Jupiter
  • Kohrah, Commander of the Robotech Masters Protection Force, is assigned the task of recapturing SDF-1. He is briefed on the matter by Exedore.
  • Roy tests out the new experimental Super Veritech attachments while taking Max Sterling on his first patrol.
  • Kohrah attempts to disable SDF-1 by trapping it in a gravity well and then destroying her Gravity Pods. Kohrah is killed and SDF-1 catapaults itself to the Asteroid Belt.
