Overview

The object of the game is to blow away as many Zentraedi Mecha as possible. All in all, this is a very simple shooter. As the levels progress, the game gets tougher, but like the arcade games of old, it just keeps on going and going and going... Besides that, there's not much else to this game.

How To Play

• Control Pad - Moves your Valkyrie. DUH!
• Select Button - Fires a spread of missles.
• Start Button - Pause.
• B Button - Transform.
• A Button - Shoot.

• Fighter Mode - (Left + B) In this mode, your fighter will fly at full throttle.
• GERWALK Mode - (Up + B) This mode slows down your fighter considerably.
• Battroid Mode - (Right + B) In this mode, your fighter will trudge along Zentraedi Space pretty slowly. However, you can turn around and attack enemies behind you!

• Your Fighter - Self Explanitory.
• Power Meter - Self Explanitory.
• Score - Self Explanitory.
• Current Level - Self Explanitory.
• Missle Spreads Left - You start out with two missle spreads, but at the end of each level and if you die, you're awarded TWO more Missle Spreads! Thus, it is possible to stock pile them for emergencies!

  Power Ups
  
  These Power Ups show up at random, so keep your eyes peeled!
  

  • Power Up - Replenishes your fighter's Power.
  • Missle Power Up - Gives you six more Missle Spreads.
  • Extra Life - Self Explanitory.

  The Levels

  
  The first part of each stage is just your basic dogfight.
  
  The second part takes place within a Zentraedi Cruiser, culminating in a fight with the ship's reactor core. Also notice that you're on a clock in this area, so don't dawdle in Battroid Mode!
  
  A Couple Of Final Notes
  • At Level 2, mines will appear.
  • At Level 3, Quadronos and Gun Turrets (On the Cruisers) will appear.

  Recommendations

  • Playing in GERWALK Mode keeps the game action at a playable pace.
  • Conserve your missles for emergencies. Even though the screen can only display 6 spreads, you can have WAY more than six spreads stored.
  • Yes, Quadronos qualify as emergencies. And so does the core of Zentraedi Cruisers, although, missle are a bit of overkill in that instance.
  • While you CAN shoot Power-Ups, all it does is push them around. Unlike 1943, no good will come of this excercise, so just grab them.
  • And finally, there are NO continues or any known codes, so DON'T mess up or you'll have to start all over again.
