Per Dorinda Sherry, grave marker states: "At rest, in memory
of Jonathan Silverthorn who died March 20, 1891, aged 58 yrs. 8
mths. and 11 days. This humble tokenof respect to thy loved
memory we erect. Though mouldering here the body lis, We trust
to meet the in the skies." Per Don Anger, another
informant, states that this gravestone is in a very old part of
the cemetery, and thre are no other stones visible within
around thirty feet in each direction.

Labourer, CAN, living with his parents, Wm & Anne Silverthorn,
farmer, N.C.Methodists, on 50 acres of land (rented) in a log
house in (the NE 1/2 of) Lot 8 in the 9th Concession (almost
directly accross the road from the Best Cemetery).
In 1871, the census listed SILVERTHORN, Jonathan, Male, 39,
born in Ontario. Religion was Baptist, occupation given was
FARM SERVANT. Census records Jonathans "Origin" as being
GERMAN; This is in error.
In 1881, the census listed SILVERTHORN, Jonathan, Head (49);
Mary J., wife, (38); William S. (20), Mary Jane (19), Ellen
(17), George (15), Sarah (13), Peter (11), Rebecca (8),
Elizabeth (6), Jonathan (3), Alice (1) .
