AVIATION PICTURE GALLERIES |
This site is currently being restricted by Yahoo Geocites in terms of data transfer. Being a picture based site it places a heavy demand on their servers. This is why these pictures are small sample images. They reserve the right to suspend the site at their convenience. If the site is unavailable from time to time then you have my apologies. |
Here are a few of my airshow pictures. The pictures are all my own so excuse the quality. I am happy for them to be downloaded and used for whatever purpose you see fit. I would however ask if you would drop me a quick line to request permission to use them. I could even send you a higher resolution version should you require it. HERE ARE SOME SAMPLE PICS. |
F4J(UK) and an FGR2 versions of the Phantom. They are from 74 and 56 SQN respectively. The F4J is was ordered by the RAF from surplus US Navy stocks to fill a shortfall in fighters caused by the deployment of F4's to the Falklands after the war. This picture was taken at RAF Wattisham in 1989. Both aircraft are fully armed. In the forground you can see a SUU21 pod containing a 20mm M61 multibarrel cannon. These marks af F4 were not given an internal gun which put them at a distinct disadvantage in close combat. The pod was normally carried on the centerline where reasonable accuracy could be achieved. It is actually a montage of 2 pictures. Can you spot the join?! For more pics of this ilk follow the link to the Phantom site. |
The USAF Display Team. The Thunderbirds. This was taken at RAF Mildenhall on their last visit there. Really flying close?!! |
A Belgian Airforce F16. This was taken on a damp day at RAF Waddington. Note the vorticies going into the air intake. Finally a Polish built MiG17 (Lim 7). It was at the Valiant Air Command Museum in Titusville Florida. This is a late model wil a radar pod in the nose intake. |
This is the very last public performance of XH558, the last RAF Vulcan bomber. This was taken at the Cranfield airshow in 1992. It arrived in the company of the Red Arrows, then went on to for its last ever display. Its howling banshee wail and stunning climb rate are sorely missed. She is now at Bruntinthorpe in flying condition. The campaign to get her in the air again is growing in momentum and she maybe back in SOON!...She will be re-locating to Duxford |
