This press release has been prepared by Paul Johansson and P. A. Pearson (aka Firinn)
The following is an official statement from the OPJFC regarding the future of
Paul Johansson and the future of Highlander: The Raven. You may take this
statement into any realm of cyberspace and beyond you may so choose, so long
as you use the exact wording of the statement and make reference to its source
as being the Official Paul Johansson Fan Club. There is no
other news at this time.
As you all know the news is not good for a second season of Highlander:
The Raven. Paul Johansson's contract has definitely come to an end with no
renewal plans in sight. Producers Bill Panzer and Peter Davis, as producers
of Raven, are more devastated than anyone. While the show continues to be a
phenomenal success in Europe, no U. S. distributor will step up to take a
chance with it. Lack of pronounced ratings is said to be the major cause of
this.
The producers of The Raven, however, have not yet given up hope. Both
Gaumont and Davis/Panzer are still actively trying to sell the show. IF a
miracle happens and they are successful and one, both, or any combo of the
actors are not available at the time, they would simply revamp the show in
order to make it work.
While he is anticipating feature film opportunities in the future, the
focus of Paul Johansson's life this moment is writing, and finishing the first
draft of a new screen play. He also is training himself for the challenge of
running in the New York Marathon this coming fall.
At this time, Paul would like to thank everyone for their powerful push to
keep Highlander: The Raven on the air. The tremendous support through emails,
letter writing, and well wishing has not gone unheard. From beginning to end
it has been an honor and a pleasure.

The October US schedule on the Sci Fi Channel shows no air dates for Highlander the Series coming up any time soon. There is no official word as to whether or not Highlander will be put back on the schedule in the near future. Fans of the series can write the Sci Fi Channel at the address below to let them know that they would like to see the show aired. Brief and polite snail mail is the best way to get the message across.
