LEXX: 'Patches in the Sky'

Stan decides to visit the home of the narcalounger, a machine that physically puts people in their dreams. But once he's in, will Stan be able to get out?

This is a superb idea, and also contains some tie-ins to the overall Mantrid plot, as the crew discover patches in the sky where planets used to be. In the meantime, Stan is given a dreamworld confronatation with the dead cannibal Giggerota who he has summoned back to life through his nightmares. And in his nightmare, she killed him.

The concept of the dream machine is really cool, especially the way it sucks people in. Kai's way to save Stan and Xev is also very clever. There's some good playing from Wayne Robson as Cubby Nox, the owner of the narcalounger business, veering between world-weary and deranged. Ellen Dubin also clearly enjoys her time back as Giggerota, trying to finish the job she started in the second TV movie. The dream sequences are really weird and bright, giving them a particularly effective otherwordly look. The computer graphics boys must have been working overtime. A pretty impressive showing.
