LEXX: 'Eating Pattern'

The LEXX is forced to set down on a planet to feed, and when Stan and Zev take an ill-thought out excursion to pass the time, they find themselves amongst a group of cannibals.

This movie unfortunately continues the downward spiral since the first one, with less impressive visuals and lots of hanging about in caves. There's not really much plot to go round. However, the idea of a giant creature gaining a cult that is willing to transform the planet's denizens into a tasty liquid to feed her worms is quite unpleasant, and well worthy of LEXX. Rutger Hauer doesn't really have much to do, and isn't particularly interesting, as his main purpose, like the others, is to stand about looking vacant.

And then there's Wist. Gorgeous and malevolent, Doreen Jacobi plays her with a quiet unassuming nature that hides what she is inside. Definitely worthy of a return. The idea of people eating other people as food has been done many times, and so there's nothing new about it here. However, there are some funny moments in between, such as 790 enjoying a temporary position between Zev's legs, which add slightly more interest to the proceddings. It's just a shame that Stan is a gibbering wreck for most of the story as he's usually the best character.
