Create a new layer. Call this 'Mouth Overlay' and set its layer mode to Overlay. Selecting the main mouth colour and using a medium soft-edge brush tool with its opacity set to 100%, paint in the mouth. Keep the layer opacity at 100%.

Create another layer called it 'Mouth Dark' with its layer mode set to Soft Light. With the darker mouth colour paint in the shadows.
