I don't think I'll ever grow up! I have loved dolls forever and it seems the older I get the more drawn to them I am. . . . Perhaps they remind me of simpler days and times. . . . Perhaps I enjoy the fixed state of beauty that is beyond my ability to attain personally. . . . Whatever it is . . . I'm addicted. Anyway, my dolls seem to defy total classification.
The newest part of my collection and quickly winning me over completely are the antique reproduction dolls. I am especially fond of the dolls by Patricia Loveless which have taken over this page!
I also have a hodge-podge assortment of old dolls and other reproduction dolls that have caught my fancy through the years.
In addition to the reproductions from antique doll molds, I have several numbered, signed artist dolls.
Not to stop there, I also have a number of porcelain dolls primarily reflecting children. Several of these were gifts from my children which makes them even more special.
Not to stop there, I also have several nostaligic reproduction BarbieŽ dolls. I have really strong memories associated with these dolls and their outfits. When they released the "Busy Gal" BarbieŽ, I told my sister about flipping through the BarbieŽ books and saving my quarters so I could buy that outfit for my doll!
And, finally, I supplement them all with my collection of miscellaneous dolls including some applehead doll, "international" dolls, and miscellaneous left-overs from raising four children! There are probably still some categories not adequately represented, but hopefully in time I'll be able to share them all.
As the opportunity affords itself, I'll begin posting pictures of my dolls with references to the places where I found many of them so you can check them out as well.
