Bartending/Mixology Program
Each course is 4 hours long. One hour of lecture followed by 3
hours of lab/bar time.  Following each 5th lesson, students are scheduled
to take either their mid-term or final test, and following their final test they
take their practical test which completes their training.

Monday-Friday / 2 weeks 
1p-5p     Monday-Friday / 2weeks 
6p-10p     Monday-Friday / 2 weeks 
OR 
9a-5p     Monday-Friday / 1 week 
1p-10p   Monday-Friday / 1 week 
Lectures are rotated each week
between the day and night classes.  Each class is independent of each other
and can be made-up if a student should miss a class.  A monthly schedule of
daily lectures is posted in the classroom for the students convenience. 
Although the program is a scheduled 40 hours, students may take
as much time as they need to complete the training.

      - THE BAR
        
          - This deals
            with the basic orientation for the student, getting them acquainted with the basics of a bar and the bar equipment to be
            used.  This will include bar set up, bar equipment,
            glassware, condiments, other necessities, mixes, bar liquors,
            commonly used call brands, standard bar terms, standard mixing
            methods, and bar measurements.
 
         
       
      - HIGHBALLS
        
          - This lesson
            concentrates on the drinks commonly knows as highballs.  Usually
            consisting of 1oz. liquor and a mix, served in a 3oz. glass.
 
         
       
      - CREAM DRINKS
        
          - Lecture deals
            with the drinks who have a common non-alcoholic ingredient of
            cream in the recipe.  Usually served as an after dinner drink.
 
         
       
      - TWO OUNCE COCKTAILS
        
          - Lecture deals
            with drinks that high in alcohol content with very little mix added. 
            These drinks commonly go into the glass referred to as an old
            fashioned glass.
 
         
       
      - MARTINIS & MANHATTANS
        
          - Lecture covers
            both the up and on the rocks serving method for the martini and Manhattan
            drinkers.
 
         
       
      - TALL DRINKS
        
          - Lecture covers
            the drinks that are served in a Collins or Hurricane type glass. 
            Also referred to as Tropical Drinks.
 
         
       
      - SOURS & MARGARITAS
        
          - Lecture covers
            those drinks that have sweetened lemon juice as the basic mix
            and consist of drinks like the margarita and sours.
 
         
       
      - SHOOTERS
        
          - Lecture will
            cover both layered drinks, also referred to as float drinks, shooters
            (a combination of liquors, liqueurs and fruit juices) and
            traditional hot coffee and hot water drinks.
 
         
       
      - COFFEE / AFTER DINNER DRINKS
        
          - This lecture
            consists of preparation of hot coffee, and dessert type drinks.
 
         
       
      - RESPONSIBLE SERVICE
        
          - Lecture
            covers the aspects of serving alcoholic beverages to intoxicated
            individuals.  Information provided on the affect of alcohol
            consumption and blood alcohol levels.  Customer service to
            increase "tip" potential, employment tips on the the job
            search, how to work private parties, and a description of alcohol
            are all covered in this chapter.
