21 November 1941 at 1043 Hours the battleship USS Indiana BB-58 was christened and launched, into the James River, by Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company at Newport News, Virginia.

24 October 1963, Towed out into Puget Sound from the Bremerton, Washington Naval Shipyard to begin her final journey to Richmond California where she was scrapped. The trip took eleven days.
04 November 1963, Under tow, last voyage under the Golden Gate Bridge, enroute to Nicolai Joffe Company, Richmond California, where she was scrapped. The Indiana's last voyage from Puget Sound to Richmond was scheduled for ten days but was delayed a day by heavy seas.
22 November 1963, Tied up, scrapping at Richmond, CA, notice how high the hull is out of the water. Scrapping was completed in late 1964.
