The Hustlers Beat the Icebergs in a close contest 73-70 to face the Gamblers in the Semi Finals

Hustlers Advance to Semi's by Edging Icebergs 8/3

August 3, 2005- Akil of the Hustlers (3-1) played some very determined football against the 2003 champion Icebergs (2-2). For the entire game, Akil made practically zero mistakes and seemed unstopable.

While the Icebergs played a great game, scoring a touchdown on every possession except one, the one failed score turned out to be the difference in the game.

Howie Gogo played a great game with two of the toughest defenders out there. He threw for 19 touchdowns.

The turning point of the game came with the score tied at 28-21, Hustlers in front. Mark went for three barnburners and missed on all three. Akil would soon go up by 14. The Icebergs would then put together a very lengthly drive. But Akil returned the ensuing throwoff for a touchdown forcing Mark to once again go on offence.

At the end of the half Akil got a field goal to go up by ten.

The Icebergs tried cutting the lead down with two point conversion but missed the 2nd attempt. His on side throw at the end of the game was incomplete.

Akil wins the game 73-70 and will move on to play the Gamblers in the Semi finals.

Notes:
-This is the Hustlers first playoff win.
-The Icebergs fall to 2-1 in playoff competition.
-The Gamblers have advanced to the semi finals by forfeit of the Fear. It is the Gamblers first playoff win.
-Mark K. and Akil met in their regular season finalie, where the Gamblers won 51-59.
-This will be the Gamblers 4th semi final game. He is 0-3 and lost all three games on the final play.
