The Bulldogs had the lead and the ball with 31 seconds to go but the Crusaders forced a late interception and scored the game winning touchdown as time ran out to win.

Late Heroics Help the Crusaders Upset the Bulldogs

June 9 , 2005- The Crusaders (1-1) came back after a very disappointing loss to the Dragons with a spectacular last minute comeback to shock the Bulldogs (0-2) who all but had their first win locked up.

The game was a sea saw contest throughout the first half. Leading by 7 with under a minute to go, the Crusader intercepted a Ross pass to take a 9 point advantage. However the Crusader's attempt at a touchdown to end the half was batted away by the Bulldogs.

Andy came out of the second half on fire, scoring 21 unanswered points with 2 defensive stops. He lead by as many as 12.

But the Crusaders couldn't get anycloser than 5 points. Rich made some remarkable grabs, including 1 were he rolled into the street and nearly got ran over by a UPS truck.

The Bulldogs had just stopped the Crusaders last on side throw attemp. Up by 5 with 31 seconds to and the ball, the Bulldogs tried to use the clock. But out of nowhere on the first play, the Crusader picked off their second pass of the day to cut the lead down to 3. After a first down, the Crusaders went for the win with 10 seconds left. Andy dropped the interception giving the Crusaders one last play with 3 seconds to go.

On the final play of the game as the play clock expired, the Crusaders miraculously caught a touchdown pass against the tough defense of the Bulldogs to win it 80-77.

Notes:
-The Crusaders ended a 5 game losing streak today.
-The Crusaders now lead the series over the Bulldogs 2-1.
-Ross played in his 2nd game of the season.
-This is the first game of the season that was decided on the final play of the game.
