The Sand Storm and Crusaders played in an exciting game to start the season off with high intensity.

Sand Storm Take Down Crusaders with Power; and 2 Point Conversions

May, 13- Yesterday, the BFL played its first game for the 11th BFL Season. And this time, we were not disappointed. The Old Stage Sand Storm (1-0) powered past the Smith Crusaders (0-1) to snap a 5 game losing streak and start 1-0 for the 3rd time in franhise history.

The two team came into this game, making spectacular catches throughout. While the defensive coverage wasn't top notch, the Sand Storm did manage to break a sea saw game with the first and only defensive stop of the game on the Crusaders first drive of the 2nd quarter. Charlie would soon take a 28-14 lead on a touchdown bomb.

But the Crusaders would be able to close the gap within the closing minute of the half with a succesful on side throw. Rich would connect with a Kenny pass to tie the score at 35-35. But with only 8 seconds remaining, the Sand Storm would catch a touchdown, and a two point conversion to take a 43-35 half time lead.

The Sand Storm began to go for the unconventional two point conversion for all but his last score of the game to capitalize on a tired Crusaders team. The Sand Storm would use this strategy to build up an 11 point lead.

The Teams exchanged scores the rest of the way. Trailing 81-78, the Crusaders final onside throw attempt would be just out of reach. The Sand Storm tacked on one last touchdown to wrap up an 87-78 victory..

Notes:
-The Sand Storm are now 2-0 in Throwoff Games
-The Crusaders are 0-3 in Throwoff Games. Rich is now 1-8 in his last 9 games.
-The League has made just announced several rule changes. Two point conversions will be moved back to mid-field, successful onside throws will result in the team begining at their own quarterline, defenders must line up at least with a quarter of the field to the line of scimmage on all plays (except on throwoffs), and the biggest rule change is on the Throwoff. Recieving teams will start at the back of their endzone and the ball should bounce between the quarterline and the goal line.
