Not worth the money July 11, 2006
Unfortunately, as with all other Philosphy products,
this is not worth the money you have to plunk down. The first time I
ever used this it BURNED!! Really badly for two or three minutes, I
actually washed the stuff off. I tried it again because I payed so
much, it burned the second time, but tolerable. Even after the burning
sensations went away, I still used globs of the stuff (I do keep
hydrated by the way). I used the whole jar under two months. I prefer
some of the cheaper brands that have SPF. Even with my sensitive skin,
Oil of Olay and Aveeno work way better than this stuff.

This is good, but Derma Step is still the best! July 9, 2006

I had tried all kinds of skin care systems, with
different levels of success, but in the end, the Derma Step system
works the best, with long lasting results. You can get a free trial
and see for yourself here: nocoststuff.biz/dermastep

this stuff is magic!!! July 9, 2006

The first thing I was going to write about "Hope in a
Jar" was that I love the smell. It is very light and herbal. After
reading the other reviews for this product, several of which
complained about the scent, I have to agree with another reviewer who
wrote that those who dislike the scent are probably used to really
perfumey products, which I personally hate. I do NOT want to rub
sweet, smelly perfume into my face! This smells as healthy as it
feels, which is really saying a lot. It is light, but not a mousse. It
has a wonderful, non-greasy texture that I really love and can't
compare with the countless other moisturizers I have tried. My skin
feels great and looks great after using it. If you try this product,
you will notice improvement right away, and it keeps getting better
and better! My skin tends to break out and go from oily in summer to
dry and flakey in winter, but when I'm using this product, it just
stays uniformly perfect.

Didn't work for me! July 3, 2006

I was really hoping that this would give me the
"make-up optional skin" that philosophy touts their products as
providing. Well, it didn't.
The first time I tried this was right after I turned 29. Back then my
skin was oily and I had regular break-outs. This cream made me break
out even more. I used it for a month before giving up.
The second time I tried it was recently (I'm 32 now). Around the time
I turned 30 my skin suddenly changed. It became dry and I quit
breaking out. I thought maybe this cream would work for me now. It
didn't. My skin was oily from it and I started breaking out again.
I won't be trying this again.

This stuff rocks.
I recently quit working to be a full time mommy. Call me a slacker,
but I just don't want to do a full face of makeup every day, but I
certainly don't want to look frumpy. With this stuff, I can skip
foundation. Seriously. It does exactly what it says it will do--helps
make your skin makeup optional.
I have pretty dry skin, very small pores, and I don't break out very
often. What I do get is weird rough patches and some redness. Hope in
a jar helps with all of that. My skin also tends to be pretty
sensitive, and I was worried this would irritate it, but it doesn't at
all.
I've used A LOT of products, from a lot of high end brands. I have to
say that this may be my favorite.
And, to be fair--the only drawback: kind of a weird odor. But you get
used to it, and it goes away pretty quickly. Anyway, I love this
stuff.
