| "Ssh..." the voice consoled. Her assailant finally let go of her mouth and she whipped around to see who it was. "Nick!" she hissed. "You scared the crap outta me!" "What? You don't like being whisked away romantically?" he asked, pretending to be offended. "Okay, I've gotta use the bathroom, dumbass, so go home before they close the store." "The guys already left. I was gonna look for you guys to get a ride," explained Nick. "Well, FYI, I drove here separately. If you're looking for Orianne, she just left," Michele smiled contemptuously. "Then guess who's driving me home?" he pointed out. Michele turned around, glared at him, and stormed off into the bathroom. Nick impatiently paced in front of the bathroom door. He called in, "Hey! Would you hurry it up just a bit?" He received no response from Michele but moments later she emerged. "Alright, let's get you home as soon as possible." Michele and Nick headed out to the exit and had an impending feeling that something wasn't right. There was nobody around. Nick tried the doors but found they were locked. "Ohmygod! We're locked in here!?!" cried Michele. Nick didn't answer her until he tried all the doors. "Yeah. We're locked in. I'll just call - dammit! My phone died. How convenient." "So I'm stuck in here overnight with YOU!?" Michele exclaimed. "Hey, I'm not too pleased that I gotta hang out with you either," retorted Nick. "C'mon," he said motioning his head over. "Where are we going?" Michele asked.. "Well, if we're gonna be trapped here, we might as well be trapped in comfort," Nick replied. "Fine," Michele reluctantly agreed as they went back to the bedding section. Nick leapt up and landed on his back on one of the showroom beds. "Ahh..." he sighed. "This is the life." Michele eyed him curiously. He was so childish. She knew he was cute, but she was sure that he knew it too and didn't need another groupie to cater to his needs. That was the main reason for her dislike towards him. He was hot and he knew it. Nick lay on the bed, his hands under his head. He looked at Michele standing there. ‘She needs to loosen up,' he thought. He knew she was pretty but he also knew she didn't like him. ‘And he had Jennifer,' he reminded himself. Deep down, he knew that if he wasn't with Jennifer, he would have gone after Michele. If she wasn't so serious and tense all the time. He had tried to get her to let loose a little by being playful, but she was still not letting her wilder side out. "C'mon! It's comfortable!" he tried once more. To his surprise, she lay down on the bed next to his. "This is really nice," Michele admitted. "See, I told you so," Nick said, smiling to himself. *************** "Hey sweetie," Orianne said when she got home and called Brian. "Hi baby. Where'd you go with your friends?" "I was out with Kaitlyn and Michele. We went to Ikea to get stuff for Kait's new place." "You were there?? So were we!" exclaimed Brian. "You were?! I only saw Nick and we had said hi, but then he walked off." "Yeah, Kev said he met up with a friend and would get a ride with them." *************** "Where IS he?!" Jennifer asked herself as she hung up the phone. She had been trying to call Nick for the past hour but he wasn't home yet, and his voice mail kept picking up on his phone. ‘The batteries are probably dead,' she tried to convince herself but she couldn't shake the feeling that there was something to be worried about. |
