Chapter 16
Later after the wedding, Nick and I were sitting on a bench in the park watching the sunset. We were holding each other like we never wanted to let go. "Nick, I love you."

"I love you too, Bethany."

"I know. I'm so glad to be your wife."

"And so am I; I couldn’t be happier."

"So, I guess we'd better head back to the guys." We were meeting the guys, JJ and the rest of BSB at a restaurant. We didn’t have the reception after the wedding, instead we were going to have cake and throw the flowers after dinner. So we were doing it in reverse. Hey, we wanted to be different.

"Well, I guess we should. But do you want to change first?" I was still wearing my wedding dress.

"Nah, I love this dress, and they know we just got married." I got up and put my arm around Nick and rested my head on his shoulder. We were walking back to the limo security and all when someone called out to us. We turned and a girl about my age came up to us.

"Hi, um... you dropped this,” she said, obviously realizing who we were. She handed me my gloves. I'd taken them off and set them in my lap. I took them from her.

"Thank you so much. I do that a lot."

"Your welcome, and you look beautiful, did you just get married?"

"Yeah, about an hour ago."

"Oh, ok. Bye now." She turned around and walked away then turned back around and looked at us like she'd seen us somewhere before. We continued walking when I heard my name. I thought Nick had said something.

"Nick, did you say something?"

"No, why?"

"I thought I heard my name."

"Oh ok." As we got to the limo, I heard my name again and saw the same girl running towards us.

"Bethany! Oh my God! It's you! I can't believe it! I hardly recognized you!"

"Um, who are you?" I asked. I held Nick tighter fearing she was a fan trying to get at Nick.

"You don’t remember me?! It's me, Lexi, from High School." I stared hard at her trying to remember.

"Oh my God! I do remember you! You look so different."

"I know, I’m sorry if I scared you."

"Just a little, I was afraid you were after Nick."

"Oh well, I just have to say that I'm not surprised."

"Well, I am, too. Oh, Nick, this is Lexi. I went to High School with her, she was a year older than I was, but we were both fans and in love with you. We always fought over who would meet you first and who you would like better."

"Aww! I feel so loved. But we really need to go."

"You’re right! Well, it was nice seeing you, but we're going to be late for our own reception if we don’t hurry."

"Oh, I’m sorry! Well, go by all means and call me and we can talk. Here's my card." She handed me the card and Nick and I got in the limo, me getting in first and then Nick. I waved to her as we drove off.

"Gee, she's perky," Nick said as we drove to dinner.

"Yeah, she is. But she's nice. She was always really nice to me when it came to you. I remember that sophomore year, she wrote something like, ‘You love him for all he is, so you are the true Mrs. Nickolas Gene Carter.’”

"That's really sweet. And you never knew that you actually would be, did you?"

"No, but I wanted to be more than anything. I prayed to God that he would bring us together and that we would fall instantly in love and be happy for the rest of our lives."

"Well, we are and that's all that matters," Nick said, kissing me. We kissed the rest of the way to the restaurant, and when the driver opened the door, we were so absorbed in each other that we didn't notice.
