"Nick, do you think we should cut the cake soon?" I asked. We were on the dance floor dancing to "My Girl".
"I guess so. I don’t see why not."
"Ok, well why don't we do it when the song's over."
"Ok."
"Nicky."
"What?"
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"Making me happy. Making me yours."
"Your welcome." When the song ended we walked over to the table and got everyone's attention. "Well, Bethany and I hope that you’re all having a good time. We're going to go ahead and cut the cake now." I picked up the knife and Nick put his hand on mine and we cut the cake. We cut a small piece, and I took one and put it in Nick's mouth. He kissed my fingers as I pulled them out. Then he put a piece in mine. It was good. Vanilla cake with chocolate icing, three layers high. It had rose petals around the bottom and was decorated with flowers, real and icing. We cut a few more pieces and handed them out. Aaron came up and asked for a big piece. "Well, Aaron you can have a small piece now and another later, we want to be sure everyone gets a piece," Nick said, sounding just like an older brother.
"Aww, Nick," Aaron said, walking off.
"Kids," Nick said, laughing. After we cut about fifteen billion pieces of cake, I prepared myself to throw the bouquet. The one I’d used for the wedding was a mix of white and pink roses. And the one I was throwing had red carnations. I walked to the front of the floor and turned around. There was a huge mass of girls behind me, and I wasn’t sure where to throw it. So I just tossed it back. I turned around, and JJ held the flowers. I smiled at her. Then Nick came up to me, and I sat down in a chair. Joy, I thought, Nick gets to take this itchy thing off of my leg! He reached up my dress and found the garter quickly. He removed it very well and I was proud of him for controlling himself. He took it and shot it right to Aaron. I knew he did it as a joke. Aaron just stood there with a confused look on his face. It was funny.
Then the DJ started the music again, and I walked up to Nick and kissed him. "What was that for?" he asked, looking somewhat surprised and happy.
"I don’t know; I just felt like it."
"Oh ok, well wanna dance?"
"Sure."
We walked out onto the floor and danced to the song. After a few dances Nick told me he had a surprise for me. He walked up to the DJ and told him something then he took the microphone and said, "I hope that you’re all having fun. Right now I'd like to say something to my new wife. Bethany, I want you to know that you mean so much to me, you’re my life, and I love you more than anything. I'd like to sing a song to you that you may have heard before.” The rest of the guys came up and they started singing "Anywhere For You." Then they went into "Just To Be Close." I smiled and motioned for Nick to come and dance with me. He came over to me. and we danced in the middle of the floor with all eyes on us as the guys sang. It was truly a magical moment that I won't soon forget.
