Chapter 18
The next morning I rolled over and looked at Nick. "Wow, I’m married." It was a little strange to be married to a super star. But being in love and having them love you back was worth it. We were leaving for out honeymoon that night. We were going on a cruise to Alaska. I'd gone there as a child and always wanted to go back. I got out of bed and got dressed, then went into the kitchen. It was a nice sunny day out and I felt so energetic and alive. I'd just started to toast a bagel when Nick walked in.

"Hey, how long have you been awake?" he asked while coming over to me.

"Oh, not long."

He smiled and wrapped his arms around me. "Can you believe we're married?"

"Honestly, no. It's like a great dream that I never want to end. But I'm glad we are."

"Me neither, and I hope it's not a dream cause I don't want to wake up, and I’m glad we are too."

"So, Mr. Carter, what do you want to eat?"

"Well, Mrs. Carter, how about whatever you’re making."

"Ok, Mr. Carter." I laughed and got another bagel and put them in the toaster. We talked about our honeymoon and what we wanted to do. We'd planned out some of it, but left some room for changes. After we finished eating, we walked together and sat down on the couch. "Well, we have to be at the air port in three hours. So, we'd better pack," I said, resting my head on Nick’s shoulder.

"Yeah, It should be really fun."

"Yeah, and we'll have privacy and have a romantic trip."

"Oh, speaking of privacy, did you remember to ask them if it was possible to make sure no one can reach us unless we want them to?" See, we were concerned that if anyone found out that a celebrity was staying on the ship that they might try to bother us, and since it was our honeymoon, we wanted to be left alone. We were flying to Vancouver, then catching the ship the next day. We weren't bringing the security guards, it was just the two of us.

"Ya know what, I didn't. I told her that we were recently married, but I didn't mention anything else  to her; I figured she'd recognize your name. I'll call right now, since she said that if we needed to change anything, we had to call twelve hours in advance." I got up and got the number for the cruise line. The phone rang twice and the same lady answered.

"Holland America Cruise lines, this is Ann speaking. How may I help you?"

"Hi, this is Bethany Carter. I called you about a month ago and scheduled a trip for me and my husband."

"Oh yes, Mrs. Carter, what can I do for you?"

"Well, I have a request. See we would like to know if there's any way that no one would be able contact us or know where we are on the ship unless we want them to."

"My, that is an unusual request, but why on earth would you not want anyone to know you’re on the ship?"

"Oh my, you don't know who Nick Carter is?"

"No, I'm afraid not. Should I?"

"Have you heard of the Backstreet Boys?" She was silent and I couldn’t help laughing just a little. "Um, hello? Are you still there?" I said, hoping I hadn't scared her off...

"Oh yes, I'm sorry. I’m just a little shocked that's all. It’s not every day that a celebrity, especially such a famous and, um, loved one comes on a cruise with us."

"Oh, well I’m sorry if I scared you. I didn't mean to. It’s just that we just got married and don't want to be bothered, and since we’re not bringing any security guards, we want to be extra careful."

"Oh no, you didn't scare me, its ok. I’ll make sure that all calls to your room come to us first and only the people on a list that you provide will be able to contact you. And while you’re on the ship, if you want a pool to yourselves for privacy, or something, just let the front desk know."

"Ok, that sounds great, and thanks for your help."

"No problem, and have a great time."

"We will. And thanks." I hung up. "Well, that was interesting."

"What do you mean?" Nick asked.

"The lady had no idea who you were till I asked her if she'd heard of the Backstreet Boys." Nick laughed. "That's kinda funny."

"I know, but it’s her fault for not listening to the right music." Nick smiled and we walked back into the bedroom to finish packing. Later that day, Nick and I were loading the limo with our suitcases and getting ready to leave. We'd had to wash the limo before we left because the guys had written “Just Married” all over the limo: on the sides and the back. Then they’d written “Nick and Beth” in a huge heart on the hood. It was really cute so we took pictures before we washed it off. We didn’t want to drive to the airport like that. We'd rented a private plane to fly us up to Vancouver, and we were really looking forward to the trip.

"Nick are we ready to go?" I asked, looking around.

"I think so; we've got everything."

"Ok, well let’s go." We got in the car and headed for the airport.
