Because Bharat Jee loved Shatrughn very much, he took him along to his Maamaa's house. They stayed there for some time. Although his Maamaa took care of them a lot, but whenever Bharat remembered his father, he wanted to go home. Raajaa Dashrath also remembered them very much who were like Varun and Indra to him. Raam was always busy in doing good to others. He was soft-spoken, good-natured, and very well-behaved. To protect grieved people, and to comfort them was His prime Dharm. He is a good archer. He took care of kingdom also very intelligently.

Seeing all this Dashrath thought when he would see Him crowned as king. He thought, "Because I have got old, if I declare Him the Crown Prince now then I can also see Him ruling the kingdom. Although He has all the qualities, He protects people like Indra, He is intelligent like Brihaspati, He is patient like Parvat and He is qualitative more than me. He was so virtuous. I wish to see Him ruling the kingdom with my own eyes."

So Raajaa Dashrath called his ministers and with their consultation decided to declare Raam as the king. Raajaa sent invitations to many kings and made arrangements for their boarding and lodging, but somehow he did not send the invitation to Raajaa Janak and Bharat's Maamaa and thought that he will inform them after the ceremony is over. All Raajaa were sitting around Dashrath in the royal court according to rules. Dashrath was sitting in the court as Indra sits in Indra's court.

Sarg 2 - Preparation For Coronation

When the Mandap (canopy) was full of kings and other people, Raajaa Dashrath said - "Our ancestors have taken care of this kingdom like their children. I also wish that this kingdom should always be happy and prosperous. I have ruled this kingdom to comfort my people with my pure heart. Now I have become old I want to take rest, I wish to appoint my son in my place. I need your permission for this.

My eldest son Raam is like me. I wish to declare Him the Crown Prince. If Raam will become the king then this will be best for all the three worlds. Please think it over and tell me if you agree with me or not. You may take time." But all accepted this proposal and expressed their happiness with Raajaa's happiness with loud noises. They said - "You are an old person of thousands of years of age, hence you may appoint Raam as the Crown Prince. 

Dashrath Jee again said - "Have you accepted this because I told you to do so, or you yourself accept Raam as your king? And when I am doing my duties all right then why to appoint Raam as your king? Tell me this."

Kings said - "Your son Raam is very qualitative. We cannot describe His all the qualities, but still we say some, listen. Among all the kings of Ikshwaaku Vansh, Raam is the best - truthful, intelligent, soft-spoken, brave and bears good character. Raam is soft-natured, has stable mind, makes other people happy. If the king has to go for battle to protect his kingdom, Raam will go with Lakshman and will return only after victory. He is like Vishnu in valor. Raam is born to you because of your good fortune. Even Devtaa, Gandharv, Naag, human beings, everybody wish Him long life and good health; so declare Him as the king for our good."
