Now Raavan was very sad and angry. He thought for a moment then he proceeded to look at his Lankaa around. He inspected it and said to Prahast - "You are very skilled in war. Our enemies have surrounded our Lankaa and are hurting our people, therefore I don't see any other alternative than to fight. Only you or Kumbhkarn, or Indrajeet or Ican take up this responsibility. Therefore you go immediately to face these monkeys. Your army can make them run away from the battlefield, and this will put Raam, Lakshman, Sugreev etc in weaker condition. And then we can control them easily."

Prahast said - "We already discussed this before, although we had a little argument on this, but still I think, it is better if we return Seetaa, otherwise this war will continue. You have regarded us by giving us charity, respect, peace etc, so in turn we should also think about your good. I don't have to protect my life, wife and children. I can sacrifice my life in the war fire."

After saying thus he called his subordinate to gather his army. All warriors and soldiers gathered there. Prahast led the army in his chariot after blowing his trumpet. His chariot was shining like Soorya and Chandramaa. It was so beautiful that it seemed like laughing. It was all secured. He came out of Lankaa soon riding on that chariot. Many bad omens started occurring but he proceeded on his mission. Both armies started fighting. Prahast entered monkeys' army with a great speed.

Sarg 58 - Neel Kills Prahast

Seeing Prahast coming towards them, Raam asked Vibheeshan - "Who is that coming to us with that huge body? How powerful is he? Tell me everything." Vibheeshan said - "Hey Raam, He is Prahast - Raavan's chief army-chief. He has one third army of Lankaa with him. He is very powerful, he knows to use various weapons, he is brave, he is mighty." Both armies fought very bravely and fiercely.

Naraantak, Kumbhhanu, Mahaanaad and Samunnat - Raavan's all ministers were killing monkeys. When Dwivid came and he caught Naraantak and dropped him on a rock, then Durmukh came in and he hit Sanmukh Raakshas with a huge tree. Jaambvaan dropped a huge rock on Mahaanaad's chest. Taar monkey killed Kumbhhanu.

Prahast saw at this destruction and started attacking monkeys fiercely. Then came Neel after Prahast, so Prahast shot an arrow at Neel which went through Neel's body and entered Prithvi like a snake. Neel hit him with a huge tree. Prahast could not tolerate this hitting but still last time he shot some arrows at Neel. Neel killed his horses and broke his bow. Prahast hit Neel with Moosal, then Neel hit a huge tree on Prahast's head. It broke his head into pieces.

After Prahast died, Raakshas army returned to Lankaa. Raam and Lakshman admired Neel.
