- Male, body length 20mm
- The Small Bottle cicada is green in colour. They are small in size. Its abdomen is comparatively large. Wings are clear with green veins. Female has smaller and tapered abdomen.
Sometimes in summer we can find them singing in our backyard. Their colour perfectly match with the leaf and hard to be seen. We often need some time to spot it even when it is singing next to us.
- We can find them start from early summer on different of tree trunk and leaves. When they sing, they only sing for about 4 seconds, and then stop for tens of seconds for another call. They sing from day to dusk.
