Warning Signals

Warning signals, or Aposematism, is the natural defence by showing bright colours, pattern, sounds, or other means by which an animal openly display a warning signal to potential predators. Prey with warning sign are easily learned and subsequently avoided by predators. Both the warning prey and the learning predator benefit from a correct interpretation of the warning signals.

If you are some danger insects, such as wasps, that will give the counterattack, or not tasty even toxic, like the Lycid Beetles, you better tell the predators before they attack you. This is why most danger and not-tasty insects (and other animals) have the bright body colour.
