 |  | For those stink bugs we found only one species in their group, they are
listed in this page. 
 Genera Agonoscelis There is only one Australian species in this Genera. Horehound bug  Agonoscelis rutila, body length 12mm They are called Horehound bugs because they are usually
found on the weed horehound. Sometimes it swarms on foliage and blossoms of
fruit trees and ornamental plants but normally causes little injury. The bug is bright orange, with black marks on the upper and
lower surfaces of the body. We took the above pictures when the bugs feeding on
  salvia plants (Lamiacae) on Sept 2002.  
 Genera Spermatodes  There are four Australian species in this Genera. Dry Nut Stink Bug  Spermatodes sp., body length 10mmWe found this bug once in Karawatha Forest during late summer. It was
    hiding on a dry stem tip among dry leaves and hard to be noticed. The bug is
    brown in colour. It has a very large scutellum which covered almost all its
    back. There are the recess areas on each side of its back. More information

 Genera Aspideurus  
  There are two Australian species in this Genera. Yellow Shield bug   Aspideurus sp.,  body length 12mm Quite a number of them were found on the same host plant during spring
  season.   
 Genera Dictyotus Brown Shield Bug  Dictyotus sp. ,body length 8mm In mid summer we found this bug laying eggs on grass. We found some of
  them near by feeding on tall grasses near Bulimba Creek in Macgregor Bushland. More
