Bathrus that we found in
the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

- Body length 15mm
-
- There is only one Australian species in Genera Bathrus. The bug
look similar to Poecilometis, but can
be distinguished by the wing vein.

- 1st instars,
5mm
2nd or 3rd instars,
10mm

- We found them, from just hatch,
young instars, late instars and adults in the same area in mid summer. The place
was next
to the Bulimba Creek in Yugarapul
Park. The bugs were found on different plants.

Last instars, 15mm Adult, 15mm
This bug is dark brown patterns on and white or pale brown in colour. There
are the metallic green patches on body.

We only found this bug in Yugarapul
Park and not in other places. The above two photos were taken in October 2005.
