Hylee Rider Hylee's jaw dropped comically, and she had to wait a moment for what her lifemate ws saying to sink in. Her reaction was automatic as soon as the lightgreenrider recovered. "You can't." Hylee stated, still looking rather aghast. I so can too! Raitarth said defensively. Whether I have to drag you wherever I want to rise or not! "It's not the rising I have a problem with, Raitarth!" Hylee cried, shaking her head. "You want to have a clutch. I don't think I could cope!" Well you don't really have a choice, now do you? Who's the one here with wings, eh? "You," Hylee admitted glumly, glaring sullenly at her lifemate. "Well, then, where? I don't think many Weyrs are accepting greens at the moment-" She was interrupted by a snort from Raitarth. Of course they are. You just haven't been looking. Hylee glowered at the green. "Because I really don't want you to have a clutch! I'm sure being proddy before your flight is bad enough without you wanting to protect your shaffing eggs as well!" Who has the wings here, eh? Hylee rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest as she collapsed into her chair. "You made that point already," She told the lightgreen dryly. Just though I'd make it perfectly clear for you. "Thanks," Hylee replied sarcastically. "The perfect place, Raitarth!" Hylee cried as she ran into Raitarth's and her own Weyr, beaming in her excitement. "Tripaldi Weyr! In the special clutch zone!" To the greenrider's dismay, Raitarth didn't react as violently as she'd expected. Da what? Raitarth demanded from her hollow, looking curiously at her rider. What's this for? Hylee rolled her eyes - it was becoming an instictive reaction lately. "For you to have your clutch! I think you have enough genetic background..." Hylee frowned slightly, examining the hide in her hand, and then shrugged. "Well, do you want to try it? Seeing as you're the one with wings and everything." I'm glad you finally figured that out, Raitarth replied, unperturbed. Sounds good to me. Hylee couldn't help it. "Were we accepted?" She blurted out to the man - he'd introduced himself as Deriam when she and Raitarth had arrived at the Special Clutch Zone at Tripaldi. "I mean, can Raitarth rise here?" Deriam give a crooked grin, shrugging casually at the lightgreenrider. Hylee flushed; Raitarth rumbled her won amusement from a few feet away. "Maybe - can't tell ya at the momen', but you'll know soon enough. This all you know 'bout your Raitarth's heritage and genetics, right? You're sure of that?" The dragonrider gave a hesitant nod, glancing over towards her lifemate. "I don't know any more than that," She agreed - she probably did, but she had no idea what genetics were, so it made the task a bit hard. Who had talked her into this?! Your suggestion, Raitarth rumbled, obviously amused. I rather like it here though. Do you think they'll accept me? In Raitarth's tone was a bit of wistfulness. Hylee snorted, not replying, and looked up to thank Deriam - but the man was gone. Hylee's brow furrowed. "He's gone," She stated. Duh. The greenrider mock-scowled at her lifemate. "And I don't know if they'll accept you," She added in response to Raitarth's question. "But if they don't, you can rise somewhere else anyway." I get to pick. "Of course. Since you're the one with the wings and all." |
