A group of twenty somethings drive to an old house in a van and one by one they make the fatal mistake of visiting the neighbours who happen to be a family of cannibals. As far as horror movies go this is probably viewed by many as one of the classics but I was left slightly unsatisfied by the film. I didn't think it was long enough for a start and I expected the squeamishity factor to be a lot higher than it was because there wasn't enough blood in the chainsaw attacks for my liking but it was well worth staying up to watch. I'm also looking forward to seeing the new 2000 film "Ed Gein" on who's story the film is loosely based. He was an apparently harmless if somewhat eccentric loner type dude from smalltown USA who people let babysit their kids and eventually was found to have been digging up bodies and murdering people. The stories said that when the cops went to his house they found lamp shades and chairs made out of human skin and stuff made out of hair and loads of other bizzare shit so I hope the film doesn't disappoint. |
