Banana Nut Cake
Cheesecake

Mrs Green's Banana Nut Cake

 Cream together:

½ cup shortening
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs

Sift together:

Dash of salt
2 cups flour
1 tsp. Soda

4 tbs Buttermilk
3 medium bananas mashed
½ cup chopped nuts
1 tsp. Vanilla

Add milk, bananas, nuts and vanilla to first mixture. Add flour mixture a little at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Bake @ 350 degrees until done. (three round cake pans greased and floured.)

Icing

¼ lb. Butter
1 box powdered sugar
2 mashed bananas
½ cup chopped nuts

Melt butter and add other ingredients. Cool cakes completely before icing.

Cheesecake

You will need a large spring form pan. Prepare Nut Crust first.

(3) 8oz. Bars cream cheese 
½ tsp. salt
1 cup sour cream 
1 cup sugar 
1 tsp. vanilla 
3 eggs 

Mix everything together except sour cream and beat for ten minutes.
Then add sour cream and beat for two more minutes. Pour onto nut crust. Bake @350 for twenty to thirty minutes. Remove from oven and top with fruit. Return to oven for twenty minutes. 

Nut Crust

2 cups flour 
1 cup butter softened
½ cup brown sugar 
1 cup nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Mix all ingredients. Work as a pie crust. Pat into a 9X13 pan. Bake for 15 minutes @ 350. Let cool. Turn onto wax paper and crumble. Pat into bottom of spring form pan. Pour cheesecake batter on top and cook.
